As we enter the winter months, East Hartford Public Schools would like to remind families of our School Delays and Closure policies.

Per legislation, we are currently no longer able to transition to Remote Learning for inclement weather days. While this means that “snow days” are back, it also means our school year will extend into June for every day missed.

2 Hour Delayed Opening: All delayed openings will be a 2-hour delay

School Closure:  School(s) will be closed for students and the June calendar will be adjusted to account for the lost school day. All before/after-school activities, events and sports including Crossroads and the Adult Education Program will be cancelled (unless specifically noted as an exception).

District Closure: District offices and schools will be closed.

Early Dismissal: Schools will be dismissed following bell times articulated in the district bell schedule for Early Dismissal. All after-school activities, events and sports including Crossroads and the Adult Education Program will be cancelled (unless specifically noted as an exception).

Cancellation of After-School Events/Activities:
All after-school activities, events and sports including Crossroads and the Adult Education Program will be cancelled (unless specifically noted as an exception).

Delay, cancellations and closure information will be communicated using the School Messenger System to notify parents, guardians, and/or the designated student emergency contacts. It is crucial that all emergency numbers are kept up to date to ensure that parents, guardians and/or emergency contacts receive this important message.

For up to date information regarding all schools during inclement weather, follow local media stations and East Hartford Public Schools on Twitter. You can also check our website or call the Board of Education "HOTLINE" at 622-5131.
