Dear Families,

Welcome to our East Hartford Public Schools Music webpage.  Whether you are returning to our program or beginning a new instrument, we are excited to work with your child. String instruction begins in Grade 3 and Band begins in Grade 4. Lessons continue through Grade 5 and are taught by instrumental teachers in each school once a week during school time.

Instruments may be obtained in one of the following ways:

  1. You may already own an instrument.  We ask that you please have your instrumental teacher check it over to make sure it is in good playing condition.
  2. You may rent or purchase an instrument from a local music store.
  3. You may rent a district-owned instrument from the East Hartford Public Schools.Returning students either already have an instrument and will receive the one they used last year.
