The school has been recognized for the past three years for FAFSA completion improvement and excellence. This includes a 44% growth rate in 2021 and over 75% for the past two years placing Synergy’s completion rate in the top 20 for the state. Prior to his work at Synergy, Dr. Outhouse served as a Data Analyst and School Improvement Specialist for EHPS, a Part-Time Assistant Principal for Sunset Ridge School, and an Assistant Principal, Team Leader and Special Education Teacher at Woodland School. He also served as an adjunct professor at Western New England University for over a decade. Throughout his career, Dr. Outhouse has fought to give all students a voice and the opportunity to maximize their success. He has worked to build and support teams that forge positive relationships with students while simultaneously leveraging those relationships to guide student growth academically, socially, and emotionally. In his new role, Dr. Outhouse aims to promote and support the amazing things going on in East Hartford schools to help every child, every day.

Dr. Outhouse earned his Doctor of Education from the University of Massachusetts. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive and Elementary Special Education from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Risk & Prevention from Harvard University.

When he is not working, Dr. Outhouse loves to travel and spend time with his family, including wife of over twenty years and three children ages 16, 14, and 6. When time permits, you may see him rooting on the Syracuse Orange or any of the Boston teams (especially Red Sox).
